Why an anti-slosh plate?
We've all experienced it: a brief drift, a hard corner, or a fast roundabout—and suddenly that oil warning light comes on. It sounds harmless, but that warning light only comes on when the oil pressure drops to about 0.5 bar. That's far too late.
As a rule of thumb, you want about 1 bar of oil pressure per 1000 rpm. So at 3000 rpm, that should be 3 bar, not a paltry 0.5 bar. Too little oil pressure means your bearings, camshafts, and other moving parts will temporarily lack proper lubrication—and that quickly leads to serious engine wear or even engine damage.
Without an anti-slosh plate, the oil in the sump can temporarily drain from the oil pickup during hard cornering or aggressive driving. As a result, the pump sucks in air instead of oil, and your pressure drops.
This plate keeps the oil contained around the pickup, even under extreme G-forces. This keeps the pressure stable, protects your engine, and allows you to blast away with peace of mind.
